Antony James Recruitment is recruiting for a quantity surveyor in the Essex area.
Salary of £55,000-£60,000
Working for a boutique firm in the Essex area, the company specialises in contracts with the education and health care sectors.
You must have experience working on commercial projects and a great track record working for a main contractor.
Principal duties include
- Creating cost estimates for building projects
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and submit tenders.
- Keep track of project costs and financial progress.
- Account management and administration for subcontractors.
- As needed, prepare and distribute variation cost predictions.
- Identify areas for margin improvement.
- Visit the site on a regular basis to monitor progress, verify quantities, and generate monthly appraisals for the client.
- Attend client and architect meetings as needed.
- Assist other commercial team members.
Skills:
- The ability to control your own workload on projects
- Excellent time management abilities, as well as the capacity to operate under pressure.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Extensive attention to detail.
- Understanding and knowledge of the building and construction industries.
