Expanding civils firm ECL buys 18 JCB excavators

20 Oct 11 Bedfordshire-based ECL Civil Engineering has purchased 18 JCB tracked excavators as it aims to capitalise on the upturn in the construction industry.

The company has taken delivery of three JCB 8065, six JS130, one JZ140, one JS145 and two JS220 models with a further two 8065 and three JS130 machines on order.

The midi and heavyline tracked excavator models join an existing fleet of both JCB and competitive excavators.

ECL was recently commissioned to carry out road construction, sewerage installation and ground works at a series of high profile new-build housing projects. These include the Barratt Homes, Merchant Taylor Place development in Croxley Green, Watford, where many of the new JCB excavators have been in action.

The 13-22 tonne models bought by ECL are part of JCB’s 18 strong JS Auto range – which it describes as the most powerful, productive and efficient excavators the company has ever built.
