Lovell Respond selected for £800,000 electrical contract by Thurrock Council

24 Sep 10 Thurrock Council in Essex has awarded leading planned and responsive maintenance specialist Lovell Respond an £800,000 contract to provide electrical testing and electrical repairs services.

The two-year contract, which starts in October, will see the Lovell Respond team providing electrical testing and repairs for 750 high and low-rise flats for the unitary authority.

Services will be delivered by Lovell Respond’s fully NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) accredited engineers.

Lovell Respond is the response and planned maintenance business of nationalaffordable housing provider Lovell.

“We are delighted to be bringing our expertise in delivering customer-focused, high-quality services to this new contract with Thurrock Council,” says Lovell Respond managing director Steve Kirk.

Cllr Andy Smith, Thurrock's portfolio holder for housing, says: “I am pleased to see that this contract should provide an efficient and effective service for our tenants. Thurrock Council is committed to providing the best value for money services possible in housing as in all its other services and this contract covers a wide area, from electrical testing, to fixing faults, rewiring, smoke alarm replacement and heat exchanger servicing.”
