Admiral Group employs 2,000 across three sites in Cardiff. The new 11-storey office block will enable the firm to bring them all into one building and expand its workforce by 50% should it need to.
The 220,000 sq ft building, designed by Glenn Howells Architects, is on the former David Street car park on Bridge Street, close to St David’s Shopping Centre. It is being developed by Stoford and has been described as Cardiff’s biggest ever pre-let.
Work will start on site in April and is scheduled for completion in March 2014.
Stoford director Tony Nash said: “Sir Robert McAlpine is one of the UK’s most reputable construction companies so we are delighted to appoint them to develop such an important and impressive scheme.”
