Ogilvie starts work on Andy Murray’s hotel

26 Jul 13 Wimbledon champ Andy Murray’s plans for a luxury hotel have been placed in the hands of Stirling-based Ogilvie Construction.

The tennis star has bought the Cromlix House Hotel, five miles from his home town of Dunblane. He is renovating it to make it an exclusive five star resort with 15 bedrooms.

Ogilvie has already started extensive refurbishment of the listed building and is scheduled to complete early next year, for a spring opening.

The contract was awarded by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI), which is managing the hotel, in addition to its eight other independent properties in Scotland.

Ogilvie Construction pre-construction director Peter Queen said: “This prestigious project will breathe new life into one of Scotland’s most elegant estates.

“As a locally based company we are delighted to have secured this contract and are working closely with the team at ICMI to deliver a new luxury venue that will attract visitors from all over the world.”
