We are recruiting an
Apprentice Painter and Decorator for an opportunity in Haringey. This role offers paid, practical experience alongside training towards a nationally recognised painting and decorating qualification.
Role Overview
As an
Apprentice Painter and Decorator, you will learn the trade through a combination of structured training and practical experience on construction sites.
You will be supported through the different stages of the apprenticeship as you develop your skills and work towards the Pearson Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Painting Occupations - Painter (Construction).
The employer would also like to hear from second-year or third-year apprentices, as well as newly qualified painters and decorators looking for an opportunity to continue or complete their training.
Important Eligibility Information
This role is being offered through a Haringey Section 106 agreement. You must live within the London Borough of Haringey to be considered.
You must also:
Be aged 18 or over
Be able to pass a colour vision test
Have a good level of physical fitness

What You'll Do
- Learn how to prepare different surfaces for painting and decorating
- Apply paint using brushes and rollers
- Help erect and dismantle access and working platforms
- Move, handle and store materials and equipment safely
- Learn how to operate equipment used to support paint-spraying work
- Follow health and safety requirements while working on site
- Work independently and alongside other members of the team
- Develop wallcovering skills where these form part of your training
Training Provided
Your training will be based around the
Pearson Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Painting Occupations - Painter (Construction).
The qualification is nationally recognised and based on the standards used within the construction industry. It will allow you to build and demonstrate the practical skills needed to work as a qualified painter and decorator.
After completing the qualification, you may be able to progress into further construction qualifications or roles involving team leadership and management.

- You must live within the London Borough of Haringey
- A genuine interest in painting and decorating, construction, colour, architecture or the built environment
- Good communication and timekeeping
- The ability to take responsibility for your work
- A willingness to work independently and as part of a team
- An honest, reliable and hardworking approach
Desirable Requirements
A full, clean driving licence
