Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

CAD Technician - Bespoke Joinery | Hertfordshire
My client is a well-established, family-run specialist joinery and fit-out contractor with over 50 years of experience delivering high-quality bespoke joinery and fit-out projects across a range of sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CAD Technician to join their design and production team in Hertfordshire.
This would suit someone with a background in bespoke joinery, furniture, shopfitting or specialist fit-out who is looking for a long-term opportunity with an established business.
The Role
Working closely with the design, production and project teams, you will be responsible for developing architectural and design information into accurate workshop and manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery projects.
Key responsibilities:
Producing detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for bespoke joinery and furniture.
Developing architectural and design information into accurate workshop and manufacturing drawings.
Producing plans, elevations, sections, details and setting-out drawings.
Liaising with architects, designers, project managers and clients to resolve technical queries.
Working closely with the workshop and production teams to develop practical construction methods.
Carrying out site surveys and measurements where required.
Preparing cutting lists, schedules and material requirements.
Reviewing drawings to ensure designs are accurate and suitable for manufacture.
Managing drawing revisions and ensuring the correct information is issued to production.
Supporting projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation.
Identifying technical issues and providing practical solutions.
Working to project programmes and meeting drawing deadlines.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as a CAD Technician, CAD Designer, Technical Designer or Joinery CAD Technician.
Strong AutoCAD skills.
Experience within bespoke joinery, furniture, shopfitting, interiors or high-end fit-out.
A strong understanding of joinery construction, materials and manufacturing processes.
Experience producing detailed workshop/manufacturing drawings.
The ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop them into practical production information.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with production and project teams.
The ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
Desirable
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
CNC / CAD-CAM
AlphaCAM
Microvellum
Autodesk Inventor
3D CAD
CNC nesting
Cutting lists / BOMs
Furniture design
Site installation
