Commercial Real Estate Lawyer - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Canary Wharf, London
Salary: Up to £80,000 DOE
Contract: 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
Working Pattern: Full-time | Hybrid (4 days office, 1 day WFH)

We're looking for a commercially minded Commercial Real Estate Lawyer to join a dynamic London property company on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The business has a diverse portfolio spanning commercial, residential and hotel assets. Reporting to the Senior Solicitor, you'll provide pragmatic legal advice across acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development projects, real estate disputes and commercial contracts, helping to protect and maximise the value of the company's property portfolio throughout the contract period.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on commercial property acquisitions, disposals and development projects.

• Draft, negotiate and manage commercial leases and landlord & tenant matters.

• Advise on and manage real estate disputes and litigation.

• Negotiate and draft a range of commercial, supplier and property-related contracts.

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across the business on day-to-day matters.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers to support the company's property and commercial objectives.

• Manage a varied caseload effectively, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and to the required timescales.

• Support the Senior Solicitor and wider business on property-related legal matters as required.

Hotel sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in commercial real estate.

• Strong experience in commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and development.

• Strong landlord & tenant experience, including drafting and negotiating commercial leases.

• Experience handling or advising on real estate disputes and litigation.

• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and supplier contracts.

• Commercially focused, with strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.

• Able to manage competing priorities and deliver pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisers.

• Hotel real estate experience is advantageous but not essential.

Contract & Working Arrangements

• 12-month fixed-term contract

• Full-time, Monday to Friday

• Working hours: 9:00am-5:30pm

• Hybrid working: 4 days per week in our Canary Wharf office and 1 day from home

• Salary: up to £80,000 DOE
