Streetworks Operative - Chapter 8 / Bus Shelter Demolition

Location: Newcastle
Positions Available: 2
Rate: £17.00 -18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | Ongoing Contract
Start Date: Immediate Start Available

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the safe demolition and removal of bus shelters.
  • Carry out general civils and groundwork duties associated with the works.
  • Work safely within highways and public areas.
  • Set up and maintain appropriate work areas and pedestrian protection.
  • Follow Chapter 8 requirements and site-specific traffic management arrangements.
  • Safely use hand tools and power tools where required.
  • Assist with breaking out, excavation and removal of existing materials.
  • Load and move materials, debris and waste safely.
  • Assist with the preparation of areas for reinstatement following demolition.
  • Work alongside other civils operatives and site teams.
  • Maintain safe access for pedestrians and members of the public.
  • Follow RAMS, permits and site procedures at all times.
  • Report hazards, damaged equipment or any issues to the Site Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
  • Carry out additional civils duties as required.

  • MSS Infrastructure are currently looking for 2 experienced Civils Operatives to join an ongoing contract working on the demolition and removal of bus shelters across the Newcastle region.

    We are looking for practical, reliable civils operatives with Chapter 8 street works training/qualifications and experience working safely within highways and public areas.
