The Opportunity
We are supporting an established resource recovery and waste management organisation looking for an organised and proactive
Operations Administrator to support the daily operation of its Caythorpe facility.
This is a varied operational administration role combining weighbridge duties, purchasing administration, waste documentation, vehicle coordination and general site support.
The successful candidate will have strong administrative and IT skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain organised and accurate within a busy operational environment.
Important to Know
- Salary: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour
- Location: Caythorpe
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Contract: Permanent
- Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate
- The role involves working within an operational waste management environment
- Strong IT, administration and Excel skills are essential
- Previous weighbridge, waste, recycling, logistics or transport experience would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the site weighbridge, accurately weighing vehicles in and out.
- Record vehicle, customer, supplier, material and tonnage information.
- Complete and check weighbridge tickets and associated documentation.
- Process and coordinate purchase orders and purchase-order approvals.
- Prepare, check and maintain export paperwork.
- Accurately record information relating to incoming and outgoing waste streams.
- Ensure waste-transfer documentation is complete, accurate and properly filed.
- Maintain accurate records for material intake, processing and offtake.
- Support the coordination of bulk and export vehicle movements.
- Liaise with drivers, transport providers, customers, suppliers and site personnel.
- Monitor planned vehicle movements and communicate delays or operational issues.
- Maintain information using Power BI, Microsoft Excel and SICOM.
- Produce reports and provide accurate operational information when required.
- Maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems.
- Support invoice queries and check information against purchase orders and weighbridge records.
- Assist the operational management team with general administrative duties.
- Follow company procedures and relevant environmental, health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative or operational support role.
- Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks within a busy working environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an operational team.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and processing detailed documentation.
- Reliable, organised and proactive approach to work.
Desirable
- Previous experience operating a weighbridge.
- Experience within waste, recycling, logistics or transport.
- Experience coordinating bulk or export vehicle movements.
- Knowledge of export documentation and waste-transfer paperwork.
- Experience processing purchase orders and resolving associated queries.
- Experience using Power BI or SICOM.
