£200 Day Rate | Own Van Preferred | Company Van Available

Due to continued growth and increasing demand across our retail and commercial contracts, we are looking for experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our network of subcontractors.

We are primarily seeking engineers located across the Midlands, East of England, and South of England, although applications from other areas will also be considered due to the nationwide nature of our contracts.

This role is centred around reactive maintenance and planned/emergency out of hours response works, supporting retail and commercial clients across a variety of sites.

The Role

You will be responsible for attending both planned reactive works and emergency call-outs, carrying out repairs safely, professionally, and in line with client expectations.

Please note: Out-of-hours call-outs are an integral part of this role and form a regular part of the workload. Engineers must be available to attend works outside of normal working hours. Enhanced rates apply to all out-of-hours works and emergency call-outs, providing additional earning potential above the standard day rate.

Key Responsibilities

Attend reactive, emergency and planned maintenance call-outs.
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
Always aim to achieve a first-time fix whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
Ability to respond to emergency call-outs within agreed service level timeframes.
Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach whilst working within live retail and commercial environments.
Submit clear job reports, photographs and completion notes using a smartphone or tablet.

Complete a variety of maintenance tasks, including:

Carpentry and joinery repairs
Door, lock and ironmongery repairs, including fire doors
Basic plumbing works
General building fabric maintenance
Ceiling, wall and flooring repairs
Basic electrical fault finding and minor repairs (where qualified)
Internal drainage works, including the inspection, maintenance and repair of high-level drainage systems within retail and commercial premises
Roofing repairs, leak investigations and temporary weatherproofing works

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role.
Must be CIS registered and able to provide a valid UTR number prior to commencing works.
Valid Public Liability Insurance (minimum £2 million cover).
Full UK driving licence.
Own tools suitable for maintenance and repair works.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to travel and occasionally further afield where required.
Ability to participate in out-of-hours and emergency response works.

Required Qualifications

UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate
Candidates who do not currently hold a valid UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate are still encouraged to apply. Time will be allowed for the successful applicant to obtain the certification prior to commencing works.

Vehicle Options

Engineers with their own van are preferred; however, a company van may be provided to suitable candidates, subject to availability. A weekly contribution will be deducted from earnings where a company van is supplied.
