Job Description

We are looking for an experienced BMS Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team, covering commercial and critical sites across London and Greater London.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in Building Management Systems (BMS), with a background in service, maintenance, fault finding and commissioning. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting BMS installations, ensuring systems operate efficiently, reliably and in line with customer requirements.

This is a field-based role involving travel across London, working directly with clients, facilities management teams and other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on BMS installations.

• Attend reactive breakdowns and diagnose BMS faults.

• Fault-find and rectify issues with BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, valves and field devices.

• Diagnose faults associated with HVAC and mechanical plant.

• Carry out BMS software modifications and system adjustments.

• Update and modify BMS graphics, alarms, schedules and trends.

• Monitor BMS systems and investigate recurring alarms and faults.

• Carry out testing and commissioning of BMS-controlled plant.

• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and energy efficiency.

• Work on AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems, boilers, chillers, pumps and associated HVAC equipment.

• Liaise directly with customers and facilities management teams.

• Provide technical advice and support to clients.

• Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.

• Participate in an out-of-hours/on-call rota where required.

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and UK health and safety requirements.

BMS Systems

Experience with one or more of the following BMS manufacturers would be advantageous:

• Siemens

• Schneider Electric

• Trend

• Honeywell

• Tridium Niagara

• Distech Controls

• Delta Controls

• Other major BMS/control systems

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working as a BMS Service Engineer, BMS Engineer or Controls Engineer.

• Strong BMS fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

• Good understanding of HVAC and building services.

• Experience working with BMS controllers and field devices.

• Ability to read electrical/control schematics and BMS points lists.

• Experience with BMS software, graphics, alarms and trends.

• Good understanding of BACnet, Modbus and other BMS communication protocols.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple service requirements.

• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• BMS, electrical, electronic or building services qualification.

• Manufacturer-specific BMS training or certification.

• Experience with HVAC commissioning.

• Experience with BMS optimisation and energy management.

• Knowledge of electrical control panels and control wiring.

• Experience working on commercial offices, hospitals, hotels, retail environments, data centres or other critical sites.

• Experience working within facilities management or maintenance contracts.

• ECS/CSCS certification would be advantageous.

• Relevant health and safety qualifications.
