About GoodPeople
We are GoodPeople, a fast-growing tech-focussed social enterprise. For over a decade we've built talent pipelines connecting employers to diverse local communities - creating real social and climate impact.
We combine our own jobs and skills platforms with in-person delivery, working with clients from the GLA, NHS and Local Authorities to Tier 1 contractors, and a growing network of colleges, training providers and community organisations.
The role
As Head of Delivery, you will lead GoodPeople's portfolio of employment, skills and social value programmes, turning commitments into people in work, apprenticeships and opportunities for local businesses. You will own delivery standards and client relationships, manage our delivery teams and shape how our model scales.
You will start with two flagship programmes:
- NHS new hospitals, East of England. GoodPeople has been commissioned to design a regional delivery model so the NHS's investment in new hospitals creates jobs, apprenticeships and skills for local people. You will lead delivery, bringing the NHS, contractors, local authorities and colleges behind one plan.
- Green careers. Our established programme supports people into green economy jobs, funded by a major corporate partner as part of a £100 million impact investment. You will own the funder relationship and milestones, and lead the recruitment team.
Your portfolio will grow to include further programmes across the UK, and you will help win and mobilise them. You will work closely with our founders and Head of Partnerships, supported by a Project Coordinator.
What you will do
- Programme delivery. Plan, mobilise and run our programmes day to day: workplans, governance, budgets, risks and reporting.
- Delivery model. Build consistent ways of mobilising, running and reporting on programmes so we can take on new contracts without reinventing delivery.
- Employer engagement. Build relationships with Tier 1 contractors, NHS trusts, local authorities and employers, and turn them into jobs, apprenticeships and supplier opportunities.
- Client and funder management. Own client and funder relationships, report progress clearly and deliver our milestones.
- Leading delivery. Lead our recruitment team through a Recruitment Team Lead, setting clear targets and keeping the pipeline moving.
- Strategic partnerships. Build partnerships with local authorities, Net Zero Hubs, colleges and skills networks.
- Growth. Develop opportunities to extend our programmes into new phases and places, and contribute to bids.
What you will bring
- A track record of leading employment, skills or social value programmes to measurable outcomes, ideally linked to construction, infrastructure or public sector capital investment.
- Credibility with contractors and public sector commissioners, and confidence to mobilise senior stakeholders.
- A commercial head: experience of account or funder management, and of turning relationships into contracted work.
- Experience leading a delivery team to targets, ideally in recruitment or employability, and comfort working with data.
- Strong organisation, budget management and clear reporting to senior audiences.
- Confidence with digital platforms and AI tools.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Social Value and public procurement.
- Expertise in construction skills with Tier 1s and their supply chain.
- Experience of Local Government, NHS or Central Government.
- Experience in the green economy or net zero skills.
What we offer
- Pay. £60,000-£70,000 base, depending on experience, plus performance-related OTE.
- Scope. Leading a growing portfolio, including a flagship NHS programme from its first months.
- Where you work. Hybrid, with time across our delivery regions and days together at Somerset House, central London.
- Holiday and health. 25 days plus bank holidays; healthcare after probation; stakeholder pension.
How to apply
Apply with your CV and a short note about a programme you have led, what it delivered and what you would do differently. We review applications as they arrive, so apply early.
- Screening call. 30 minutes with our COO on experience, motivation and practicalities.
- Interviews x 2-3. With our CEO and COO. The first includes a short presentation on your approach to your first 90 days.
GoodPeople is an equal opportunity employer. We especially welcome applicants from ethnic minority and global majority backgrounds, and those with lived experience of inequality. Let us know if you need any adjustments and we will accommodate them.
