About GoodPeople
We are GoodPeople, a fast-growing tech-focussed social enterprise. For over a decade we've built talent pipelines connecting employers to diverse local communities - creating real social and climate impact.
We combine our own jobs and skills platforms with in-person delivery to support people into good work in the green economy, construction and other growth sectors. Our clients and funders range from the GLA, NHS and Local Authorities to Tier 1 contractors, and we work with a growing network of colleges, training providers and community organisations. As we expand across the UK, we are seeking talented recruiters to join us.
The role
The UK's net zero transition needs a large new workforce in retrofit, clean energy and construction, and most employers in these sectors struggle to recruit. Meanwhile, capable people lack the awareness and access to reach these jobs. Our programme closes that gap.
You will join our recruitment team on Net Zero Careers (netzerocareers.co.uk), our green skills and employment programme, now in its third year and backed by 2 major corporate partners.
The people we support include career changers, young people, people returning to work, and communities that traditional recruitment overlooks. Your job is to find them the right role, prepare them for it, and support them to stay and progress.
You will work across the full cycle, from unlocking vacancies to aftercare. Our platform and AI tools handle much of the admin, leaving you more time for the conversations that make placements happen.
What you will do
Placements. Fill roles across the green economy and construction, from heat pump and solar SMEs to Tier 1 contractors, against monthly targets.
Candidates. Find candidates through partners, our platform, job boards, social media and events, and prepare them with CV support and interview coaching.
Inclusive hiring. Help employers widen their reach through how roles are advertised, skills-based selection and reasonable adjustments.
Employers. Build relationships with hiring managers, unlock new vacancies and keep them coming back.
Support. Stay in touch after people start, resolving early issues so placements last.
Partners. Work with colleges, training providers and community organisations to keep candidates flowing.
Data. Keep our CRM accurate and up to date so the team and funders can see progress.
Events. Represent GoodPeople at jobs fairs, partner sessions, college visits and employer events.
What success looks like
First three months: you know our tools, sectors and partners, have a live caseload and are making your first placements.
By six months: you consistently hit monthly targets and have employers who come back to you with roles.
By twelve months: partners see you as the person to call for green jobs and you are well placed to apply for Recruitment Team Lead.
What you will bring
Experience in recruitment, employability or sales, with a record of hitting targets.
Confidence on the phone and in person with employers and candidates alike.
Empathy and patience with candidates new to the sector or to work, and confidence to advocate for them.
Organisation and persistence to keep many candidates and roles moving at once.
Comfort with tech, including CRMs, LinkedIn and job boards, and an appetite to use AI tools.
A collaborative approach and an interest in widening access to good work.
Nice to have
Experience in construction, energy or green sectors.
Experience with community organisations, training providers or employability programmes.
Lived experience of the barriers our candidates face.
What we offer
Pay. £37,000 plus bonuses for placements once you reach your monthly target.
Progression. We are opening a Recruitment Team Lead role in the new year, open to everyone in the team, including new joiners.
Training. In our tools, sectors and way of working.
Where you work. Hybrid, with regular days together at Somerset House, central London.
Holiday and health. 25 days plus bank holidays; healthcare after probation; stakeholder pension.
How to apply
Apply with your CV and a short note about a programme you have led, what it delivered and what you would do differently. We review applications as they arrive, so apply early.
Shortlisting call. A short call with one of the team.
Interview. In person, including a 10 to 15 minute task we will send you beforehand. We will let every candidate know the outcome.
GoodPeople is an equal opportunity employer. We especially welcome applicants from ethnic minority and global majority backgrounds, and those with lived experience of inequality. Let us know if you need any adjustments and we will accommodate them.
