A Costain / Colas / Halcrow joint venture has been appointed by the Highways Agency as Managing Agent Contractor for Area 14 in the north east.
A-one+ will deliver integrated highways management and maintenance across major routes in North Yorkshire, County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
The contract, worth £115m, takes effect from 1 July 2010 for five years with an option to extend by a further two years.
A-one+ will be responsible for the maintenance of roads and bridges across 635km of carriageway.
