1 Oct 10 A Vietnamese construction worker has died on a construction site in south London, after being crushed by a collapsed excavation.

A Vietnamese construction worker has died on a construction site in south London, after being crushed by a collapsed excavation.

The incident occurred at around 1430 yesterday on the site in Waldram Park Road, Forest Hill.

An air ambulance and road ambulance rushed to the scene but were unable to save the man.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Health and Safety Executive have been informed of the incident."

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: "Despite extensive efforts to resuscitate the patient, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1510."

A Health and Safety Executive spokeswoman said: "The police are making inquiries. It is too early to add anything more."

It is not yet clear who the deceased was employed by, or which company ran the construction site.
