Clugston ready to start on energy from waste plant

17 Mar 11 Clugston Construction and process partner CNIM start construction next month on a £145m energy from waste plant in Lincolnshire.

 Clugston’s design and build contract is valued in the region of £40m.

The 3.1 hectare site is in North Hykeham.

The facility, for Waste Recycling Group, is designed to treat up to 150,000t of household waste per year and produce enough electricity to power 10,000 homes and businesses. 

Lincolnshire County Council is also planning to develop a district heating scheme for local homes and businesses.

Clugston Construction managing director Steve Radcliffe said: “Together with our JV partner CNIM, we are delighted to have finalised the contract to design and build the EfW plant for WRG and Lincolnshire County Council.
“We have worked closely with our partner CNIM, WRG and Lincolnshire County Council for some time now on the development of this plant and it is exciting that we will be commencing construction very soon.”
