The Link is a flagship community centre for young people, under the Harrow Manor Way flyover in South Thamesmead.

Powder-coated aluminium was specified in red, orange, yellow and green.  The Aluglaze panels include Styrofoam insulation, achieving a U-value of 0.35W/m2K.

Architect Giulio Oliviero of Saville Jones says: “The curtain walling and panels were specified in four colours of the rainbow, as the building is designed to attract and appeal to young people. The building has a distinctive look, with different colours used for each of the arches to provide a bright, contemporary look.”

Panel Systems sales manager Danny Phelan says: “Aluglaze panels are regularly installed for their aesthetics, as they were on this project, and the choice of colour was all important. These panels were produced to achieve the required thermal performance requirements to ensure that a high level of energy efficiency could be achieved.”
