Asif Ghafoor joined Amey in 2006 as finance and commercial director and has since helped to develop its investments arm, in projects including North Yorkshire Waste, M8, Sheffield Highways and Isle of Wight Waste.
Over the past 10 years, Mr Ghafoor and his team have helped raise more than £4bn of private finance, including traditional bank debt, bond issues and European Investment Bank funding. In addition, the investment team is responsible for managing a £200m portfolio with more than 20 investments.

Asif Ghafoor’s appointment follows the recent recruitment of Amanda Fisher as managing director of FM, Defence and Justice, as well Jayne Bowie's promotion to group legal director and Carol Hui’s appointment to the board of directors.
