London subcontractors and suppliers sought

The free event, organised by Constructionline, takes place in Fulham on Thursday 6 June, between 8.30am and 3pm.

Along with giving construction firms the chance to meet prospective buyers, contractors will also have the chance to attend presentations given by the London Construction Programme, The Considerate Constructors Scheme, The Supply Chain School, ConstructED and The Facility Architects and Consultants. The London Construction Programme is looking to set up several framework agreements for:

• major works;
• mechanical works;
• electrical works;
• landscaping works; and
• adaptation works for the less able.

In particular, the major works framework agreements are being developed by the London Construction Programme for use in general construction works over £100,000 and up to £10m for all London local authorities and other public sector organisations in London.

Andy Preston, client relationship manager from Constructionline, said: “In our experience, both private and public sector clients want to give work to local contractors, and in turn, the contractors are eager to win these tenders. However, we understand it is often difficult for contractors and buyers to get opportunities to meet face-to-face, hence the reason for hosting events such as this.
