Nationwide Platforms invests another £20m on fleet renewal

24 Jun 13 Access hire firm Nationwide Platforms is investing £20m in fleet renewal this year, following a £23m programme last year.

Despite the budget cut, the 1650 new machines being added tis year is a similar number to the 1700 bought last year, once again representing approximately 15% annual fleet renewal, or 30% over the past two years.

New equipment this year ranges in working height from 3.5m to 70m. Leading the way are 630 Genie platforms to replace older machines in the Nationwide fleet, with eight different kinds of scissor lift and seven types of boom lift models set to be distributed across the 26 depots.

Following their first introduction to the Nationwide Platforms fleet in 2012, a total of 43 specialist HAB scissor lifts will also be added this year.

Managing director Mike Potts said: “We believe this investment reflects our commitment to continually improving the levels of quality, service and support we strive to provide to our customers.”
