Opportunity for Sheffield contractors

30 Aug 13 Construction firms from the Sheffield area are invited to a free ‘Meet the Buyer’ event to help them win work from local clients.

Constructionline, the government-owned database of contractors, is looking to put buyers and trade contractors together at the event, which is being held at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club on 12 September.

There will be presentations on work opportunities from Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Trading for Good, Highways Agency, Kier Services and Vinci Facilities. Sheffield City Council is specifically looking to set up agreements for roofing and central heating improvement work to its social housing stock.

Constructionline client relationship manager Aaron Good said: “In our experience local councils and other businesses want to give work to SMEs in their area, and in turn contractors are eager to win these tenders, but it’s often challenging for each to gain access to one another.

“This event is designed to offer local construction companies some valuable introductions as well as helping them to learn about upcoming work opportunities, and how they can best win business from buyers on their doorstep.”
