The Klemm KR709-2 is suitable for medium weight drilling requirements and is capable of 450mm to 600mm diameter holes.

Suttle Projects was previously using a second-hand Klemm KR708-2 that it had purchased to expand into augered piling as an alternative to driven piling.  Growing demand, including from Network Rail projects, created the need for a machine that could drill to greater depths in a single stroke.

The contractor has already used the new drill rig during the pre-augering for sheet piling in a project in Hampshire, on-site with Network Rail for four weeks to remediate one of the biggest landslips in history, and in piling foundations for a new zip line on Bournemouth beach.

The machine was supplied by Skelair International.
