The double-drum Volvo DD25 Electric is for small scale compaction projects including street repairs and patching, parking lots and driveways, where zero tail-pipe emissions are required.
The electric driveline is based on the same architecture and components of Volvo CE’s ECR25 Electric compact excavator and L25 Electric compact wheeled loader, launched in 2020.
Volvo says that it should put in a full shift on a single charge, depending on the type of job and intensity of the work cycle. The machine comes with an integrated on-board charger that enables charging from 0 to 100% in as little as three hours, depending on AC power level. With an optional off-board DC fast charger this can be achieved in nearer an hour.
The Volvo DD25 Electric will make its debut at this year’s Conexpo trade show in Las Vegas (14th-18th March 2023).
