The new 18-month programme kicks off next month [Oct] with trainees in operations, marketing, supply chain and purchasing. The programme begins with a ninemonth placement in a branch, where trainees will learn how to do business at the trade counter. This is followed by a three-month placement working with a senior manager before the final six-month placement in the role of deputy branch manager.
The programme itself is a combination of regular training sessions, online training and job shadowing, all of which are designed to provide the practical, hands-on experience required to be a Wolseley manager. Leadership development manager Mairead Golding said: “One of our key people goals is to have the best branch staff and I believe our management training programme is another great way of making this happen.”
