Civil Design Engineer

Location: London
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

I'm working with a well-established independent multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to add a Civil Design Engineer to its London team.

The consultancy works across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial, retail, education, healthcare and leisure, delivering civil and structural engineering solutions on projects ranging from smaller developments through to major schemes.

This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer looking to develop their technical experience within a collaborative consultancy, working closely with experienced civil and structural engineers.

The Role

You'll be involved in the design and delivery of civil engineering projects from early-stage feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing drainage, highways, external works, levels and earthworks.
• Producing detailed engineering drawings, calculations and technical reports.
• Working on SuDS, drainage strategies and flood risk related projects.
• Undertaking 3D ground modelling and cut and fill analysis.
• Supporting projects through planning, detailed design and construction.
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Working closely with structural engineers as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
• Developing your technical knowledge and taking increasing responsibility for project delivery.

About You

We're looking for a Civil Engineer with consultancy experience who is keen to develop their career within a technically strong and supportive environment.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around 2-5 years' UK consultancy experience.
• Experience in civil infrastructure or development design.
• Good knowledge of drainage, highways, earthworks and external works.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or similar would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of UK design standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Working towards ICE Chartership would be advantageous.
