A retrofit and energy efficiency contractor is recruiting a Technical Quality Assessor to check the quality and compliance of insulation and renewable energy installations.
Role Overview
As a
Technical Quality Assessor you will carry out inspections before, during and after installation, identify work that needs correcting and help improve installation quality. You will also oversee accreditation work and support the survey team with technical surveys, Retrofit Assessments and EPC assessments when required.
The role is based in Bury St Edmunds and involves regular travel to sites and customers' properties across East Anglia, the South East and the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site and desktop inspections of work completed by operatives and subcontractors.
- Check installations against PAS 2030/2035, MCS standards, Building Regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Produce inspection reports, record non-conformances and identify remedial work.
- Follow up with teams to check corrective actions have been completed.
- Oversee accreditation work and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Speak with residents after works and pass on any concerns or feedback.
- Identify recurring issues and support improvements to installation quality.
- Carry out technical surveys, Retrofit Assessments, EPC assessments and associated risk assessments when required.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working on external wall insulation projects.
- Good understanding of the PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 frameworks.
- Level 4 Retrofit Assessor qualification.
- Domestic Energy Assessor qualification.
- Experience in insulation, retrofit, renewables or a similar construction environment.
- Ability to identify defects and produce clear inspection reports.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to meet the employer's insurance requirements.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the stated regions.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in quality assurance or inspection.
- Traditional Building Retrofit Assessment for pre-1900 properties.
- Level 3 Heat Loss Calculation qualification.
- CSCS card.
- IOSH or another relevant health and safety qualification.
Salary and Hours
- £50,000 per year.
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
