We are working with an established and highly regarded surveying company that is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished surveyor who enjoys a varied workload, takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work and is ready to take on greater responsibility within a well-established business.
The successful candidate will work across a range of topographical, engineering and construction surveying projects, combining hands-on surveying with responsibility for coordinating projects, managing workloads and supporting the development of more junior surveyors.
The Role
Working closely with the Survey Manager, your responsibilities will include:
-
Undertaking topographical, MBS and engineering surveys using modern surveying equipment and techniques.
-
Using total stations, 3D laser scanners and digital levels to capture accurate survey data.
-
Processing survey information and producing drawings and deliverables using N4ce, AutoCAD and StarNet.
-
Undertaking registration and processing of 3D laser scanning data where required.
-
Planning and coordinating surveying activities, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, safely, on time and within budget.
-
Supervising and supporting Surveyors, Graduate Surveyors and Survey Technicians.
-
Mentoring junior team members and helping develop their technical skills.
-
Liaising directly with clients, attending site meetings and providing updates on project progress.
-
Ensuring surveying activities comply with relevant health and safety requirements, risk assessments and method statements.
-
Maintaining surveying equipment and ensuring it is suitable for the work being undertaken.
About You
We're looking for an experienced surveyor with strong technical skills, a proactive approach and the ability to manage both projects and people.
Ideally, you'll have:
-
Proven experience undertaking land, topographical and engineering surveys.
-
Strong practical knowledge of total stations and either 3D laser scanning or digital levelling equipment.
-
Experience using N4ce, AutoCAD and StarNet or comparable surveying software.
-
The ability to independently plan, manage and deliver surveying projects.
-
Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior surveyors.
-
A full UK driving licence and CSCS card.
Experience processing and registering 3D laser scanning data would be particularly advantageous.
You'll also need to be flexible regarding travel, including occasional working away from home depending on project requirements.
What's on Offer?
-
Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
-
A varied workload across land, engineering and construction surveying projects.
-
The opportunity to take responsibility for projects from initial survey through to final deliverables.
-
A senior position offering the chance to mentor and develop less experienced surveyors.
-
The opportunity to work with modern surveying equipment and technology.
-
A supportive, professional working environment with opportunities for further career development.
This position would suit an established Senior Surveyor or an experienced Land / Engineering Surveyor who is ready to take the next step in their career.
