Civil Design Engineer

Location: Hitchin
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

I'm working with a well-established independent multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to add a Civil Design Engineer to its Hitchin team.

The office offers a good alternative to the London consultancy market - giving you the opportunity to work on a strong range of development and infrastructure projects, while being based outside of London and away from the daily London commute.

You'll work across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, retail and leisure projects, gaining exposure to a broad range of civil engineering design work.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

• Civil infrastructure and development design from concept through to construction
• Drainage, SuDS, highways and external works
• Levels, earthworks and cut/fill modelling
• Preparing drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Drainage strategies and flood risk assessments
• 3D ground modelling and detailed infrastructure design
• Working with structural engineers, architects, contractors and clients
• Supporting projects through planning and detailed design stages

About You

I'm keen to speak with Civil Engineers with around 2-5 years' UK consultancy experience, ideally from a development infrastructure background.
You'll ideally have experience with:

• Drainage, highways, earthworks and external works
• AutoCAD and ideally Civil 3D
• MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage or similar
• UK design standards and guidance
• Residential or other development projects

ICE membership or working towards Chartership would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
